John "Dean" SwimJohn Dean Swim was born April 5, 1935, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, to John Andrew Swim and Susan Anna Bolin Swim. He died Friday, July 29, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 87 years. Dean was reared and educated in Collinsville and graduated with the Collinsville High School Class of 1953. He was married June 29, 1956, in South Gate, California, to Bobbie Jean Pavey. He served his country honorably with the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. Dean was a talented carpenter and had worked with the Farmer’s Co-Op, Oklahoma Fixture Company, and American Airlines. He was a man strong in his faith and had been an active member of Collinsville Tabernacle since 1958. He was also a member of the Collinsville Masonic Lodge #168 and Akdar Shrine. Dean enjoyed a variety of pastimes including woodworking and fishing. He loved his grandchildren and especially enjoyed his role as “Pawpaw”.

Sister; Donna Stamper, of Collinsville, Oklahoma
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean Swim, Parents, John and Susan Swim, sisters, Mammy Spurgeon, Margrett Underwood, and brother, Marvin Swim.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Gary Boyd officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Brad Cantrell, Lance Williamson, Mathew Rodrock, Jason Carey, Wes Fjeldsted, Matthew Boyd, and Anthony Rodrock. Committal service and interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Dean’s memory to the Folds of Honor Foundation, Department #13, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74182, or www.foldsofhonor.org . Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
