J ArikianJoseph “Joe” Francis Arikian was born June 21, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan, to Avedis and Hosana “Anne” (Kazanjian) Arikian. He passed from this life Wednesday, September 6, 2017, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 92 years. Joe was raised and educated in Detroit, Michigan and Astoria, New York and graduated with the W.C. Bryant High School Class of 1943. After High School, towards the end of WWII, Joe enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country honorably. He was married July 23, 1949 in New York City, New York, to Helen (Dostoomian) Arikian. He then went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Pratt Institute in New York. Joe spent most of his working life as a Technical Illustrator for Fairchild Republic, drawing diagrams of different aircraft for instruction manuals. He was a longtime member and very active at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Brentwood, New York, and attended St. Henry’s Catholic Church after moving to Owasso in his later years. Joe enjoyed watching sports, gardening, and was a passionate Pro-Life supporter.

Ethan, Monique, and Danielle Arikian, of Chandler, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Helen, 2 brothers, Jay and Eddie, and 2 sisters, Matilda and Mary.

Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at the St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Owasso with Father Matt La Chance officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made in Joe’s memory to Grace Hospice, 6218 S. Lewis Ave Suite 130, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
