funeral arrangementLeonard Frank Simeroth was born September 18, 1926, in Lexington, Oklahoma, to Andrew Joseph and Laura Isabel (Snow) Simeroth. He died Tuesday, May 26, 2015, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years. Leonard was reared and educated in Porum, Oklahoma and graduated with the Porum High School Class of 1945. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Army Air Force during World War II and the Korean War as a forward air controller. He was married December 15, 1951, at Webbers Falls, Oklahoma, to Anne Fisher of Porum, Oklahoma. He spent much of his working life as an aircraft mechanic with American Airlines in Tulsa. Leonard was a charter member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso. He was also a member of the Owasso VFW Post #7180, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Transport Workers Union #514. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including reading Western books, especially those written by Zane Grey. He was a handyman and spent time working with small engine repair.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John and Raymond, two sisters, Helen and Evelyn, brothers-in-law, W.A., Jack, and Pat, and sisters-in-law, Gladys and Katie.

A Rosary prayer service will be held 7:00 Thursday, May 28, 2015, with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2015, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso with Father Matt LaChance officiating. Serving as casket bearers were Leonard’s grandsons, Joey Simeroth, Joe Slitzker, Shane Hills, Ben Simeroth, David Simeroth, and Josh Eastin. Committal services and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Henry Catholic Church Building Fund, 8500 Owasso Expressway, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055, or Owasso VFW Post #7180, c/o Richard Simmons, 7708 North 131st East Court, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055.
