Spread the love

10/30/2020 – Sometimes you write stories that mean something to you personally. This is one of those stories.

Long time Owasso residents, and local McDonald’s owners Tim and Patty Rich are retiring effective November 1, 2020.

They have sold their five area restaurants to Nichols Management, who will now own 31 locations.

I have witnessed their community involvement over the last 25 years, and it has benefited Owasso beyond compare, much of it done silently and behind the scenes.

Their McTeachers Night fundraisers have gone above and beyond the norm, raising $925,000 over the last 15 years. That’s a lot of fries and pies sold benefiting our schools.  Touch-a-Truck events helped fill the Owasso Community Resources food pantry, and Coffee with Cop events helped connect the community. These are just a few of their give-back efforts.

As the page turns to the next chapter for the Rich Family, we will miss seeing them at the restaurants, and have no doubt that your love for our community will continue to shine.

I feel so fortunate to call you my friends.

From Tim and Patty:

Buying the McDonald’s locations in Owasso in 1995 was a dream come true for us. We call Owasso home. It’s with a nudge from God that Tim with 52 years and 46 years for me (Patty) that we decided to retire. We weren’t looking to retire, wasn’t on our radar, but God!!! He has called us to a different chapter. One we have jumped into with anticipation. What we thought would be so very difficult has been by his mercy so very filled with HIs Grace.

Ecclesiastes 3:9-13 sums up our hearts.

“What do people really get for all their hard work? I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God.”

We would like to thank and recognize our employees past and present who have been our source of strength. We would not have been able to achieve our success without the support of all of them. God graced us with many cherished memories full of laughter, and joy. So to all of you because you know who you are  “Keep those Arches shining” and know that God loves each and every one of you  we have felt blessed that you chose to be part of our “McFamily”

Our final day as McDonald’s Owner/Operators will be October 31st. Our days will be full of memories and our hearts will be filled with much love for all the blessings the communities of Owasso, Collinsville, Claremore and Mannford have shown and shared with us these past 25 years.
