Maggie Lucille “Lucy” Gray was born on October 31, 1930, in Catoosa, Oklahoma to Elmer Edward Carrier and Alema (Ward) Carrier. She passed from this life on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at her home in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 95 years. Lucy was raised and educated in Catoosa, Oklahoma and attended Catoosa High School. She was married on September 6, 1947, in Catoosa to Claud Edward Gray. They moved to Owasso in 1953, and she still lived in the same house till 2021. At that time, there wasn’t much in Owasso except Main Street, a grocery store, western auto, OTASCO, a bank, and a gas station. Lucy and Claud raised two children, Patricia and Gary, who attended Owasso Public Schools. Many mornings Lucy would iron clothes for other people to make a few dollars. She also did lots of childcare in her home to earn $10.00 a week, which was a lot of Money for 9-10 hours a day. Many children she watched didn’t want to go Home and would sometimes spend the night. They loved her as much as she loved taking care of them. Lucy was baptized at First Assembly of God in Owasso in 1968, and was a longtime faithful member of Rejoice Free Will Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed a variety of past times such as bowling in women’s leagues with her friends, shopping, and gardening. Lucy was a great wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and a special aunt. She had many friends and was willing to help others when she could. She is missed by many and loved by many more.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Alema Carrier, and two brothers, Ray Carrier and Henry Carrier, husband, Claud Gray, son, Gary Gray, and her son in law, Phil Burford.
