CoverMarie Victoria Henderson was born on August 30, 1926 in Vian, Ok. she was the daughter of

Robert and Lydia (Fields) Dockery. Marie departed this life entering into her heavenly home on

January 13, 2016, in Tulsa, Ok., at the age of 89 years. She had resided in Owasso for the last

several years.

She graduated from Vian High School in 1946 and went on to graduate from Langston

University with a Master’s Degree in Education. From there she became a teacher and loved

every minute she had with her students. After teaching for about 35 years she retired from

Nolanville Elementary School.

Marie had one son Lloyd and one daughter Meeker, she was also blessed with 2 granddaughters

whom she loved very much.

Marie loved to cook, travel, and watch Ed Sullivan. She also enjoyed 60 minutes and day time

soaps. One of her favorites were Western movies. She also loved to entertain her many friends.

She was a faithful member of the Pershing Baptist Church for many years. She was a good cook

and good Momma!

Her son Lloyd was grateful for the opportunity to care for his Mom in her later years.

Marie is survived by her son Lloyd Henderson of Owasso, and her Daughter Meeker Amos and

husband Kenneth. Granddaughter’s Brittany Ward and Dockery Chapman.

The family would also like to extend their appreciation to Miller Hospice, ClareHouse, Pastor

Scott Gordon, Recee Buggs and family, and Stephanie, LPN for all of their excellent love and

care provided to our mother.

Visitation is scheduled for 9AM to 8PM Thursday, January 21, 2016. Family will receive quests

from 6-8PM.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 22, 2016 at Dighton-Moore

Chapel in Owasso, OK. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Vian, OK.
