Spread the love
Martha SaylesMartha (Lahita) Sayles was born October 20, 1947, in Hatalov, Czechoslovakia, to Michael Lahita and Mary (Vagasky) Lahita. She came to the United States aboard the RMS Queen Elizabeth when she was just 2 years old. She passed from this life on Saturday, December 3, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 75 years, surrounded by her loving family.
Martha was raised in Trumbull, CT. She proudly received her diploma from Central High School in Bridgeport, CT in 1979. She spent most of her working life as a Recruiter and Office Manager in both CT and NM. Martha was a longtime faithful member of Saints Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Parish while she resided in Bridgeport, CT, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church while she resided in Rio Rancho, NM and finally St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso, OK.
Martha collected teapots and loved to get dressed up in fancy hats for a great tea party. She loved get-togethers, spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, playing the slot machines at the casino, shopping, and savoring good food, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Throughout her life, Martha made lasting friendships. No matter what trials or tribulations she was experiencing, she was always more concerned for others than herself, offering loving support and a warm smile or hug. She was adored by everyone who met her. She had a wonderful wit, gentle demeanor and gave the best hugs.
Those she leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include her three loving daughters:
