Mary Ann KingMary Ann King was born on September 7, 1943, in Burbank, California to Charles Kenneth Burghart and Ruby (Rainwater) Burghart. She passed from this life on Monday, March 20, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years. Mary was reared and educated in Coffeyville, Kansas where she attended Coffeyville High School. She was married to Kenneth G. Hills until he passed away in 1972 then remarried to Jack E. King until he passed away in 2013. Mary spent most of her working life as a member service representative with Verdigris Valley Electrical Co-op in Collinsville, Oklahoma for almost 40 years. She was a faithful member of Shephard of the Hills in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Mary Ann loved animals and loved being outdoors. Spent many years caring for big cats and wild animals as Vice President of Safari Joe’s in Ada, Oklahoma. She was a phenomenal cook and made the best homemade ice cream and smoked brisket to be found! She taught cooking classes and wrote a column in the VVEC monthly newsletter called Mary Ann’s Country Kitchen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruby, first husband, Kenny Hills, late husband, Jack King, and two stepsons, Steve and Greg.
