Nancy Elaine Edwards was born December 11, 1946, in McKinney, Texas, to Bonner Teeter and Lenora Rackley Teeter. She died Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 77 years. Nancy was reared and educated in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Will Rogers High School Class of 1965. She continued her education attending Draughn’s School of Business and received her IBM Executive Secretary certificate. Nancy was married April 23, 1966, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Gary Edwards. They had made their home in Owasso in 1974 moving from Tulsa. Nancy spent most of her professional career as an administrative secretary with the Owasso Police Department before retiring in 2009. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including sewing, watching movies, time spent reading and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling across the country in the RV and going camping. Nancy dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who affectionately knew her as Granny..

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bonner and Lenora Teeter, and husband, Gary Edwards.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend Rusty Teeter officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Allan Edwards, Terry Edwards, Tim Trammel, Luke Edwards, Todd Enlow, Brett Allen, Ben Simeroth, and Blade Christie. Committal service and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Nancy’s memory to the St. Francis Children’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
