badgeOwasso Police are urging citizens to keep a close watch of their property, specifically lawn equipment, and ensure doors and garages are closed are locked as often as possible.

Over the past 2 weeks, Owasso Police have responded to at least 7 incidents whereby property owners have reported lawn equipment, such as trimmers, edgers, leaf blowers and full size mowers stolen.

During most of the incidents owners had been using their items and only stepped away for a few minutes, returning to find the items stolen.  In addition, there have been at least 10 incidents of vehicles being burglarized overnight during the same date range.  In almost all of these incidents owners reported leaving their vehicles unsecured and property such as cash, wallets, laptops, etc.. stolen.

Incidents have been geographically widespread however repeat incidents have occurred in the Country Estates Addition of Owasso near 116th St N and Garnett Rd and in the Fairways Addition near 9600 N and Mingo Rd.  Owasso Police have been concentrating patrols in these areas however need citizens to keep on the lookout for suspicious activity and report anything out of place as soon as possible.

The non-emergency number to the Owasso Police is 918-272-2244 and as always 911 in an emergency.  Thank you, OwPD
