Owasso has reason to celebrate one of its own. Jon Beckloff, Director of Child Nutrition for Owasso Public Schools, has been named the North America Platinum Spirit of Sodexo Award winner—the company’s highest honor for an employee.
For those who know him, this recognition comes as no surprise. Beckloff pours his heart into serving students every day, while also extending that same dedication to the larger community and even across the country.
“I am honored to receive the Platinum Spirit of Sodexo Award,” Beckloff said. “This recognition reflects the opportunity I have had to serve both within Owasso Public Schools and beyond. Through my role as a reserve deputy and as the founder of the Project Tribute Foundation, I have been able to equip first responders across the country with life-saving tools and training. I am grateful for the support and flexibility provided by Sodexo and our district leadership, which makes this work possible. Being part of a community that values service and purpose has been both humbling and motivating.”
OPS Superintendent Dr. Margaret Coates shared how much Beckloff means to the district:
“We are incredibly proud of Jon Beckloff for receiving the North America Platinum Spirit of Sodexo Award. This recognition speaks not only to his hard work and dedication, but also to the positive impact he has on our students, staff and community each day. We are grateful to have Mr. Beckloff as part of the Owasso Public Schools family.”
A Heart for Service
Beckloff has spent 15 years with Sodexo and joined Owasso Public Schools three years ago. Beyond his role in child nutrition, he founded Project Tribute, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting first responders with training, equipment, and tools they need to save lives. Thanks to his efforts, more than $260,000 in life-saving gear has been placed in rural emergency teams’ hands—gear that has already saved 33 lives.
His commitment goes far beyond the job description. He has:
-
Driven 370 miles through a winter storm to transport critical medical personnel.
-
Stepped up as an area safety coordinator to support emergency preparedness efforts across Sodexo.
-
Opened OPS kitchens and called in his team to help another district keep summer meals going when a water issue shut their kitchens down.
A Community That Benefits From His Work
Owasso is stronger because of leaders like Jon Beckloff—people who see a need and quietly step up to meet it. His recognition as the Platinum Spirit of Sodexo Award winner shines a spotlight not just on his service, but on the values our community holds dear: dedication, compassion, and care for one another.
