Spread the love

Paula Mae Myers, 63, was born on January 27, 1961, in Houston, TX, the daughter of Colleen (Zike) Myers and John Myers. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Paula was a resident of Fort Towson and was an RN for many years. She was a friend to so many people and would happily give a motivational pep talk or rally an army for those in need of help. Paula loved with a fiery passion that was unrestrained and she had no fear, an undeniable trait handed down from strong women who paved a path for the family for generations. She wasn’t afraid to climb a tree to gather persimmons or muscadines so homemade jelly could be made in the same fashion as her mother and great-granny Zike. Paula’s talent and passion for sewing, crafting and quilting was a hobby that she held dear because it embodied the love and memories of her mother, Colleen, both were master seamstresses. She loved her sister, Annie, and they were always close even when they lived across the country from each other. Annie was with her throughout her illness and together they shared a love of the family property and spent time together clearing trees and making space for new animals and a garden. Paula was so proud of having a sister who was a Seattle Firefighter and world traveler.

Paula loved her animals and any stray that crossed her path was loved and cared for. She also loved her hobby farm with alpacas that gave her wool that she used to make beautiful yarn and her goats that provided milk and helped maintain the grounds around the farm. Her chickens provided fresh eggs for homemade recipes and turkeys that were just fun and interesting creatures.
Paula loved her children and especially loved her grandbabies, even when they grew to be teenagers. Her great grandchildren also brought her so much joy these past 2 years. Her loving heart and creative mind will be remembered by her family and friends.

Paula is survived by her children, Lindy Johnson of Owasso, OK, William “Billy Joe” Shufeldt, Jr. of Owasso, OK, Kelly Shufeldt-Rodriguez of Lexington, KY, Johnathan Shufeldt of Corrine, OK and Trevor Shufeldt of Owasso, OK; grandchildren, Madison Bittman, Shane Shufeldt, Hunter Moore, Colton, Moore, Cade Bauer, Benji Bauer, Garrett Johnson, Natillie Shufeldt, Miranda Shufeldt, Baylee Shufeldt, Casey Gurley, Merannie Rodriguez, Giovanni Rodriguez, Nat Rodriguez and Eli Rodriguez; great grandchildren, Kindrey Childress and Huckley Bittman; brothers, Wayne Forbes and Mike Myers, and sister, Annie Myers along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
