S G SimmonsStanley Gene “Stan” Simmons was born November 26, 1967, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He died Monday, December 11, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 50 years. Stan was reared and educated in Sellersburg, Indiana, and graduated with the Silver Creek High School Class of 1986. He was known as an excellent mason and had owned his business S & S Masonry. He spent much of his working life as a signalman with BNSF Railway. He was married July 29, 2000, in Tulsa to Saundra Bell. Stan was a faithful member of No Limits Church in Owasso where he was active serving in missions. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including camping, duck hunting, and taking road trips. He also enjoyed listening to music and attending car shows for vintage cars. Sports were also a big interest playing football, basketball, and baseball. He was an avid fan of the Oklahoma Sooners and Oakland Raiders.

Most important to Stan was his family, who hold many cherished memories including:

He was preceded in death most recently his grandmother Genevieve Pyles.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Mark Young officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Brock Welsh, Kent Gilmartin, Jason Barnard, Scotty Howard, Larry Jackson, and Bret Bass. Honorary casket bearers will be Brent Simmons, Robert Simmons, Jason Hale, and Joel Oakes. Committal service and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Stan’s memory to No Limits Church Mexico Mission Fund, P.O. Box 2168, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
