Templer Shubrick Horry IIITempler Shubrick Horry III was born on December 25, 1935 in Greensboro, North Carolina to Templer Shubrick Horry, Jr. and Helen (Stack) Horry Kostoff. He died on Friday, March 12, 2021 at his home in Owasso, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years. Templer was raised in Durham, North Carolina, graduated with the Braggstown High School Class of 1954. Shortly after graduation he enlisted and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He retired after 21 years of service with the rank of Tech Sergeant. Templer was married in Mansfield, Ohio on June 21, 1958 to Barbara Lou (Wolf) Horry. He spent most of his working life as a computer maintenance technician with the United States Air Force and after retirement, with Unisys for 19 years and Clovis Public schools in Special Education Department, as a vocational educational trainer for 4 years. Templer has been a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma since 2007, and was an active member of Kingswood United Methodist Church in Clovis, New Mexico for 32 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, traveling, spending time with family, watching all sports, playing the guitar, square dance calling, and singing in the church choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Templer Shubrick Horry, Jr., Helen Stack Horry Kostoff, and William Kostoff, granddaughter, Barbara Rose, and brother-in-law, Wayne Brown.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Owasso First United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Cinocca officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Templer’s memory to Owasso First United Methodist Church, 13800 E. 106th St. N., Owasso, OK 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service.
