odot-logo-2728c-blue-with-black-text_cropA $45 million widening and bridge replacement project on US-169 between Tulsa and Owasso is scheduled to begin Monday, July 6. While there is not an immediate impact to traffic expected at this time, drivers are urged to be alert to crews and equipment working in the corridor.

This roughly one-mile section of US-169 is from near 56th St. North to near 66th St. North. The project will expand the highway from four lanes to six lanes and also replace eight bridges in the corridor. Those bridges include the two bridges at 56th St. North, two bridges over Bird Creek, two bridges over the Bird Creek Overflow and the two bridges over the North Bird Creek Overflow. The overall project is expected to complete in spring 2017.

In order to minimize the impact to commuter traffic, two lanes will remain open in each direction daily Monday through Friday. Lane closures will be scheduled during overnight hours and also on weekends.
