Verna Sue LysterVerna Sue Lyster was born October 18, 1936, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Richard Vernon Wilson and Dorothy Helen Wade. She died Monday, September 20, 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years. Verna was reared and educated in Tulsa, with a short time in California, then back to Tulsa where she graduated with the Will Rogers High School Class of 1954. She spent most of her working life in the banking industry. She worked at Fourth National Bank and Bank of Commerce, both in Tulsa. She began her career as a teller then moved up to manager over the tellers. Her last position was working as a bank auditor for FDLIC in Dallas, Texas. After making her home in Collinsville, Oklahoma, she was the apartment manager for Cardinal Heights. Verna was strong in her faith and was a faithful member of First Church in Owasso. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including reading and crocheting. She also had a love for horses.

She leaves behind a sister, Dorothy Davis, and many loving relatives and friends, who will dearly miss her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Greg Lyster and sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Lester Redman, and brother-in-law and Phil Davis.

Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 27, 2021, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. There will be a time of viewing/visitation one hour prior to the service. Committal service and interment will follow at Floral Have Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
