BREAKING: Just after classes began this morning, the administration at the Owasso 8th Grade Center contacted the Owasso Police Department in reference to a possible threat. Two students reported that another student had made threatening statements to them and claimed that he was going to bring a gun to school today to shoot them. Within minutes of the threat being reported, Owasso School Resource Officers located the juvenile suspect and removed him from class. A CO2 powered pellet pistol was subsequently recovered from inside the student’s backpack and he was detained pending the investigation into the alleged threats.
The 14 year old male suspect was placed under arrest for Planning or Threatening a Violent Act and he was transported to a juvenile detention center. Due to his age, the suspect’s identity is not being released.
