Beatrice Viola Byron, resident of Owasso, passed away Friday evening, November 8, 2013 at the age of 83 years. Beatrice was born February 15, 1930 in Hampton, New Jersey to Newman and Sarah (Bowlby) Black. At six months old, the family moved to Somerville, NJ, and it was here that Beatrice was raised, graduating Somerville High School. She continued her education, takingcourses related to the nursing profession. On December 10, 1949, Beatrice was united in marriage to John Parana in Somerville. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1984. Eighteen years ago, Beatrice made Owasso home. While in New Jersey, she worked as a unit secretary for the Carrier Foundation, a psychiatric hospital. Beatrice was raised in the Methodist faith and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those that survive include her children – Peggy Lynn Wolferz of Hillsborough, NJ, Deborah Joy Morris of Claremore, OK, John Jay Parana of Delaware, Tammy Lee Salerno of Owasso and Jacqulyn Ann Griffith of Plano, TX. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.

Per her wishes, Beatrice was cremated, and her remains will be laid to rest with her husband in New Jersey. There will be no formal services held. Arrangements were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. www.moweryfs.com
