David Robert WilsonDavid Robert Wilson was born on April 4, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri to Donald Woodrow Wilson and Dolores Ann (Ballweg) Wilson. He passed from this life on Monday, December 12, 2022, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years.

David was raised and educated in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated with the Edison High School Class of 1970. After high school, he enlisted and served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. Upon returning home, David earned his bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Tulsa.

He took his first teaching job with Mounds High School in Mounds, Oklahoma. After one year in Mounds, David decided to move to Owasso where he joined the Owasso Fire Department as an EMT and later Fire Chief from 1980-1982. After several years at the fire department, David accepted a job at Owasso High School, where he served as a teacher and a coach for over 30 years. In 1992, he earned his Master of Education from Northeastern State University while teaching at Owasso. Also, within those 30 years in Owasso he served with the Oklahoma Air National Guard in Tulsa as a Master Sergeant and Fire Chief for the 138th Crash Rescue. David was involved with search and rescue after the Oklahoma City Bombing.
In his younger years, David earned the ranking of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed many past times throughout his life such as being outdoors, gardening, coaching, traveling, and
spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Debbie Wilson of Tulsa
Mike and Debbie Easterling (Brother and sister in-law)
and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Dolores.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Nancy Cook officiating. Graveside service and burial will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in David’s memory to Hydrants of Hope, 12898 E. 510 Rd., Claremore, OK 74019.
