Earline Rosemary LockettEarline was born on October 7, 1940 on Honey Island, Texas, to Magnolia (Blackshire) Lacy and
Alphonso Lacy, Sr. She was the fifth of eight children.

Earline spent her childhood in bot Honey Island and Kountze, Texas. She graduated from George Washington Carver and attended college at Prairie View A&M University, where she studied both education and music. She attended and was baptized at the Redeemed Church of God in Christ where she remained a member until her husband moved to California.

Earline met and married Herman Lockett, Sr., in Kountze, Texas, on March 4, 1960. Two years after their first child was born the family relocated to Oakland, California, where the five other children were born. After moving to California, Earline joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church led by Pastor Herbert Guice, where she remained a member until she relocated to Oklahoma.

Earline was dedicated to her family and took immense pride in being a homemaker, raising her children, and caring for the neighborhood children by providing a meal, making sure their homework was done or babysitting. She also worked at Del Monte Cannery in Oakland, California, for many years.

Earline was very protective of those whom she loved and whether she told you or stood silently rolling her eye with disapproval, you knew where you stook with her. Earline had a huge, loving and had an open-door policy to anyone in need. Earline loved music, reading her daily devotions, collecting Princess House crystal and interior decorating.

Earline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her children-Louis Morgan and Kevin LaMont Lockett and her siblings-Alphonso Lacy, Jr., Ernest (Doris) Lacy, Nathaniel (Elizabeth) Lacy, Sr., Jeraldine Gilder, Thomas A. (JoAnn) Lacy, and Timothy Lacy.

Earline leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her precious memories- her children;-Magnolia (Eugene) Daniels, of Collinsville, OK, Herman (Veronica) Lockett, Jr., of Beaumont, Texas, Michael LaVell Lockett, of Collinsville, OK, Trivon NaVell Lockett, of Los Angeles, CA, and Nathaniel Christopher Locket, of Oakland, CA; her grandchildren-Maneeka Daniels, Raymond (Charras) Daniels, Robert Fields, Iyahna Lockett; Vaneshia Vallery, Kevin Vallery, Kerrick Vallery; Angelic Lockett, Monica Lockett, Monique Lockett, Aaron Lockett, Christopher Malik Lockett, Aminah D. Lockett, and Kevin Trivon Lockett; her great grandchildren;-Matthias Daniels, Mariyah Daniels, Trelen Simpson, Trell Dei Simpson, Trendyn Simpson, Taraji Vallery, Ny’Asia Lockett, and Kawhy Lockett; her sister, Cathy (Wesley) Shaw; her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Lacy, Doris Lacy, and JoAnn Lacy, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and children of her heart-Gayle Walls, William (Billy) Brannon, Joyce Lackey, Dorothy Calloway, and Angela Lockett (daughter-in-law).

Funeral service was held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso, Oklahoma, with Reverend Darren Lacy and Minister Bobby Lacy officiating. Serving as honorary casket bearers were Herman Lockett, Kevin Lockett, Michael Lockett, Trivon Lockett, Nathaniel Christopher Lockett, Eugene Daniels, Raymond Daniels, Robert Fields, Aaron Lockett, Christopher Lockett, Kevin Trivon Lockett, Matthias Daniels, and Kawhy Lockett. Arrangements and cremation services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
