08/20/2017 – A pursuit of two motorcycles which started in Talala, ended in Owasso yesterday evening, leaving one rider in serious condition.

Just before 9:00pm Saturday night, Talala Police were trying to stop two motorcycles, but they sped off south on Highway 169.

Scanner traffic indicated Collinsville Police joined the pursuit, with speeds reaching up to 130 miles per hour.

Scanner traffic indicated both motorcycles exited 96th Street North in Owasso, with one stopping in the Walmart lot where they were detained by police.  The other continued west on 96th Street, then south on Garnett.  When it reached 86th Street North it went west at a high rate of spead past Ator field where it struck a Lexis SUV, throwing the rider off the vehicle.  He was transported to a Tulsa hospital in serious condition by Owasso Medics. Reports indicated the three passengers in the SUV were not injured. Talala, Collinsville, Tulsa County Sheriffs Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Owasso Police were all on the scene.

86th Street North between Main Street and Mingo remained closed until 11:20pm for clean-up and investigation.  Residents of Southern Links addition report they were unable to come in or out during that time.

At this time, no names of those involved in the accident have been given.
