Imogene Isaacs was born January 9, 1926, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Delbert Alaska and Beulah Opal (Martin) White. She died Thursday, February 12, 2015, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 89 years. Imogene was reared and educated in Coffeyville, KS and was a graduate of Coffeyville High School. She continued her education earning her degree in nursing. She was married on June 20, 1950, in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Alvin “Pete” Isaacs. They moved to Owasso in 1954 where they made their home since that time. She spent most of her working life as a registered nurse, first working at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City and then at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She later worked for longtime Owasso Physicians, Dr. Perry Evans, Sr., Dr. Don Dunaway, and finally Dr. Steven Clark before retiring in 1988. She was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Owasso. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including reading, sewing, crafting, and praying for her family and friends.
Loving family members include: Son and daughter-in-law; Rick and Melody Isaacs, of Owasso Daughter; Kathy Sheffield, of Owasso Four grandchildren; Terra Powell and her husband Rudy, of Owasso Mandy Kerr and her husband Justice, of Hurst, Texas Trina Chinn, of Owasso Jason Sheffield and his wife Brenda, of Afton, Oklahoma 10 great grandchildren; Oran and Cole Powell Caden, Sophie, and Addy Kerr Dylan Chinn and Jordan Givens Nora, Isaac, and Katie Sheffield She was preceded in death by her parents Delbert and Opal, and her husband Pete.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 16, 2015, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Blake Altman officiating. Committal services and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso. Arrangements and services were entrusted to the family of Mowery Funeral Service.
