James "Bob" Robert Morrison

 

James Robert “Bob” Morrison was born October 14, 1940, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to James Sidney Morrison and Ercell Elizabeth Hodges Morrison. He died Thursday, September 21, 2023, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years. After high school, Bob served his country honorably with the United States Army. He spent over 30 years of his working life as a welder with Yuba Heat Transfer. Bob was married June 6, 1981, to Barbara Perdue, and they have made their home in Owasso since that time. Bob was a faithful longtime member of Freedom Church in Owasso. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including horseback riding in his younger years and was active with the Turley Round-up Club. He and Barbara enjoyed square dancing and were part of the Pairs and Squares. One of his favorite pastimes was restoring old cars. Bob was an avid golfer and spent much time out on the golf course. He was especially fond of his role of “Papa” to his grandchildren.

Great grandchildren; Kannin Hughes, Magnolia Jo Richardson, and Kohen Kent Richardson
Sister; Elizabeth Puroff
And several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Ann Farley, two brothers, Roy Dial Morrison and Tommy Joe Morrison, and son, James William “Jim” Morrison.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Freedom Church in Owasso with Pastor Andrew Rankin officiating. Final resting place will be at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Bob’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105, or at www.stjude.org .
