M WhitneyMickey Carroll Whitney was born December 1, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, to Calvin Milton and Fannie Evelyn (Nelson) Whitney. He died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 67 years. Mickey was reared and educated in Dallas, Texas, and graduated with the Sunset High School Class of 1968. He was married December 12, 1969, in Dallas to Ingrid Maria Baker. They had made their home in Owasso, Oklahoma, since 1978. Mickey spent most of his working life as a facility manager with Ashland Chemical over the Tulsa and Oklahoma City branches. He enjoyed a variety of pastime and was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed guns and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was devoted to his family whom he loved and cherished.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert William Whitney, and a grandson, Philip Jon du Plessis.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2016, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Dr. Brian Whitney officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso.
