Owasso Family Academic Advisement Night

January 10, 6:00pm – 8:00pm

 
01/03/2019 – Owasso High School is holding their second annual Academic Advisement Night. Their goal for the evening is that parents and students will leave with a better understanding of the academic programming that is offered to 9 -12th grade students.
 
They want to inform well so that you can make the best decisions as you prepare for the future. Please select 4 Breakout sessions which you would like to attend throughout the evening. Please understand, you don’t have to choose just one.

  • 6:00 – 6:15 Opening Session PAC
  • 6:20-6:40 Breakout 1
  • 6:45-7:05 Breakout 2
  • 7:10-7:30 Breakout 3
  • 7:35-7:55 Breakout 4

 

AP advisement (band hallway, large band room) – what is the AP program?  Why would/wouldn’t I enroll in AP classes?
Oklahoma’s Promise (current 10th grade) Rm # 2– how do I sign up for Oklahoma’s Promise

Dual Credit advisement (band hallway, medium size band room) – what is Dual Credit programming?  How would/wouldn’t it benefit me?

Tulsa Technology Center advisement (band hallway, small band room) – what does Tulsa Tech offer to the HS student? Is it right for me or should I choose something else?

High School Graduation Requirements (PAC)

Foreign Language  Rm # 8 – Types of foreign language courses offered as well as information about other courses that will count toward the foreign language requirement

Business/Computer Department Rm # Ram Cafe – Should you choose to take computer classes rather than foreign language?  This session will give you some information regarding the new computer classes we offer at OHS.

FCCLA  Rm # 128– Courses offered and topics covered in our Family and Consumer Science classes
