Community Service Award

The Owasso Chapter, National Daughters of the American Revolution announces the Selection of Wilber “Orval” Trapp as the recipient for the chapter’s first Community Service Award.  “Orval” as he is called by everyone has served as a volunteer for the Owasso Historical Society for more than 15 years.  He has always been on duty for almost every Saturday since he began working as a volunteer.  He is a graduate of Owasso High School, class of 1945.  Because of his interest in history, he has compiled various informational papers on Owasso and some of the surrounding area.  He put together a scrapbook of his graduating classmates, and this book is at the Owasso Historical Society.

Regent Sue Roth and Linda Willey, award chairperson made the presentation for Orval to Marilyn Hinkle and Kaye Gibson at the museum.  Orval has been ill for the last few months and his family said he preferred for the presentation to be made at the museum to his friends.

Marilyn and Kaye were honored to accept the award for Orval.  They had many stories to tell about Orval’s work at the museum.
