11/24/2018 –  Today was the day.  The first day brunch was available at the new Smoke. Woodfire Grill location In Owasso.

I have been a huge Smoke fan for years, their brunch being a family favorite. The Cherry Street location has been a central meeting spot for the family on weekends to enjoy a great meal on numerous occasions.  I always said I would be in trouble if they opened a location in Owasso….. and happily, here comes trouble.

In my head, I wanted to be the first brunch customer at the new location.  With a 10am opening time, we left the house with plenty of time to spare, but what? A line at the door at a 9:45?  That dream was quickly squashed, but not the dream of a fabulous brunch right here in Owasso.

We had about five parties in front of us, but were seated quickly. Keep in mind, if you are going for brunch after this weekend, call for a reservation.  We were greeted quickly by “Jordan” our server.  He was new but knowledgeable, talkative and friendly.  Being accustomed to their menu, we knew what we wanted pretty quickly. Biscuits and Gravy ($10) , Sausage Scramble ($9) and Chicken Fried Porkloin ($13)  were our choices.  A mimosa before the meal was also ordered.

A basket of mini muffins with a spiced maple butter was brought to our table before the meal……… and then a second basket as they went quickly.

Before we knew it, our order had arrived. The one thing my family hates is that when eating with me,  I take pictures of their food before they can eat.  I did so quickly so they could enjoy.

If you have never enjoyed their biscuits and gravy, you are in for a treat.  The house made biscuits are cooked in a pan like cake, cut in to tall squares and covered in the most delicious gravy I have ever tasted. My over-easy eggs were cooked perfectly, and served with a side of potatoes.  The Sausage Scramble is similar, but with house made sausage, cheddar and two eggs scrambled, served over a biscuit and topped with sausage gravy, served with potatoes.  And then there was the man sized buttermilk fried Pork loin served with two eggs any style, potatoes, and sausage gravy.  If “Yumolicious” was a word, that is what I would say about our meal.  Servers were very attentive. Water and soda glasses never made it lower than the half way mark before they were refilled.

You get so much (delicious) food you will want to finish it all, and that we did. It is now 8 hours later and the family still can’t eat another bite.  A to-go box may have been a better option.

Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 3:00pm.  After this weekend, reservations are recommended.

Local Owners and Fine Dining right here in Owasso is the best of both worlds.

But where is the dinner review you ask?  It is coming.  That is but another excuse to eat there again soon.

Smoke is located on the southeast corner at 76th and Main, which I predict will soon be an auto pilot address for my car.
