Richard Alan “Rick” Thompson was born February 8, 1956, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Billy Joe and Helen Delores Conner Thompson. He died Tuesday, November 14, 2017, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 61 years. Rick was reared and received his secondary education in Nowata, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Nowata High School Class of 1974. He continued his education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah before finishing at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He was married June 15, 1989, in Reno, Nevada, to Sherry LeFlore. He spent most of his working life as an IT client delivery manager with DXC in Tulsa, formerly American Airlines, Sabre, EDS, and HP. Rick enjoyed a variety of pastimes including cooking and woodworking as well as traveling. He was especially fond of his Cowboys and was an avid Oklahoma State University fan.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2017, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel. Private family disposition will be held at a later date. The family requests memorial contributions be made in memory of Richard Thompson, OSU Foundation/Cowboy Excellence in Athletics Endowment, 400 South Monroe Street, Stillwater, Oklahoma, 74074. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
