DaneWayne Dane was born September 29, 1931, in Weatherford, Texas, to Othela N. and Arzula (Kerr) Dane. He died Saturday, August 22, 2015, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years. Wayne was married July 9, 1949, in Weatherford to Mary Lou Measures. They made their home in St. Charles, Missouri, in 1954 where they raised their family before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1979. They later move to Owasso in 2003. Wayne spent over 35 years working with McDonnell-Douglas in Tulsa as a manager. He was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church in Owasso. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including being a proficient golfer. He was very proud of having been able to shoot his age on more than one occasion. He also enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. Wayne was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He was very insightful and witty and was never short of a story or one-liners.

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, and three sisters.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Friendship Baptist Church in Owasso with Pastor Linzy Slayden officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be David Foster, Seth Dane, Stephen Dane, Josh Baskins, Andrew Baskins, Travis Jeffries, Greg Dane, and Jim Andrews. Committal services and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Friendship Baptist Church Missions Fund, 14100 East 86th Street North, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
