Sondra Ann DaySondra Ann Day was born March 29, 1939, in Dexter, New Mexico, to Robert Vance and Mary Sue Helms McVicker. She died Monday, June 24, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years. Sondra competed her secondary education in Bayfield, Colorado, and graduated with the Bayfield High School Class of 1957. She continued her education attending Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. She was married December 23, 1958, in Dexter, New Mexico, to Theodore L. “Ted” Day. They relocated to various places, Tulsa, Houston and St. Louis for job opportunities. They finally settled back in the Tulsa area. They always called it home. Sondra spent most of her working life as an executive secretary with Kaiser Francis Oil Company in Tulsa. She was a longtime faithful member with the congregation of the Owasso Church of Christ. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including scrapbooking, arts and crafts, but she especially enjoyed her role of “Grandma” to her grandchildren and “Gigi” to her great grandchildren.

Sister and brother-in-law; Judy and Bill Nelson, of Vail, Arizona
Brother; Vance McVicker, of Vail Arizona
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Ted Day.
 
Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019, at the Owasso Church of Christ with Dan Schnell officiating. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Hope Harbor Children’s Home, P.O. Box 1047, Claremore, Oklahoma, 74017, or the New Mexico Christian Children’s Home, 1356 NM 236, Portales, New Mexico, 88130. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
