S M LeppkeSusan Marie Leppke, 97, passed from this life to her eternal home at 12:15 pm on April 26, 2018 at Olathe, Kansas. Susan, was born August 25, 1920 to D.J. & Anna Thiessen at Isabella, Oklahoma. She married J. Walter Leppke, September 26, 1937, at Collinsville, Oklahoma at the Mennonite Brethren Church. She followed her husband in ministry from 1944 until his death in 2005. They pastored the Westport Mennonite church in Collinsville, and Assembly of God Churches in Porum, Catoosa, & Miami, Oklahoma and Eudora, Kansas. 

Susan was the ultimate pastor’s wife beside her husband of 67 years. She enjoyed cooking and organizing dinners for churches and family reunions. She liked sewing, quilting, flower arranging, & making peanut brittle for Women’s Ministries groups. She always worked with children’s activities in children’s church, VBS, Missionettes, and state youth camps. She served several years as the Sectional Women’s Ministries Director in Northeastern Oklahoma for Assemblies of God churches. She and her husband also served as pastors to senior adult groups at Owasso Assembly of God and the Joy Group at Oolagah Assembly of God. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. J. Walter Leppke, her son-in-law, Rev. Jack Wilson, her parents, D.J. & Anna Thiessen, 5 brothers, Walter, Jonah, Alvin, Franklin & Louis Thiessen, 1 sister, Ruby Clevenger, 4 nephews, & 5 nieces. 

She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Wilson, Olathe, Kansas; 2 grandchildren, Jeff (Judy) Wilson, Wichita, Kansas, & Teresa (Gy) Drake, Lenexa, Kansas; 7 great-grandchildren, Janell, Andrea, Bradley, Stephanie, Sam, Micah, & Gillian; 6 great-great-grandchildren, Nickolas, Natalie, Rhome, Logan, Elaina, & Rylee; one sister, Louella Gossen, Independence, KS, one brother, Carl Thiessen, Verdigris, OK., 10 nephews, 8 nieces, and a host of extended family and friends.
