Valerie WrightValerie Ann Wright was born February 14, 1956, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Robert Edward and Patricia Sue (Richmond) Morgan. She died Saturday, January 2, 2016, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 59 years, after a valiant battle against ALS. Valerie was reared and educated in Tulsa and graduated with the Nathan Hale High School Class of 1974. She continued her education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where she earned her Associates Degree in marketing. Valerie was married November 11, 1977, in Tulsa to Tom Wright. They moved to Owasso in 1984. She spent most of her working life as an accounting clerk with Wal-Mart. She was a longtime faithful member of Rejoice Church in Owasso. Valerie’s pastimes included working with a variety of arts and crafts. She and Tom enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach in Destin, Florida. One of her favorite roles was being grandma and spending time with her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2016, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 1:30 Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Rejoice Church in Owasso with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Rob Morgan, Jeff Morgan, Trey Taylor, Kraig Kerns, Jacob Wright, Jackson Kent, and Christian Kent. Final resting place will be Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Tulsa MDS-ALS Division, 5840 South Memorial Drive, Suite #307, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74145. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
