W. H. Benne was born January 27, 1925, at Yukon, Oklahoma, to John and Vernia Lucy (Rosecrans) Benne. He died May 9, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years. W.H. was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He was married in June of 1949 to the former Norma Booth. He spent most of his working life as a lineman with A T & T, retiring after 35 years of service. In his early years, W.H. enjoyed going out and dancing with his wife. He also enjoyed a variety of pastimes including spending time at Lake Eufaula and boating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, son, Richard Benne, and brother, J.V. Benne.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2016, at the Chapel Hill Memorial Chapel in Oklahoma City with Pastor Paul Taylor officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Chris Smith, Erik Pinter, Ben Straka, and Chase Pinter. Serving as honorary casket bearer will be Ray Scott. The family requests memorial contributions be made to The Little Lighthouse, 5120 East 36th Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74135. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
