WilmaWilma Corrine Leavitt Holderman was born in Greene County, Missouri on May 6, 1921 to Walter and Nellie (Webb) Leavitt. She passed from this life on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the age of 93 at her home in Owasso surrounded by her loving family. Wilma was raised and received her education in southern Missouri, graduating high school in 1937 at Humansville, MO. On June 6, 1946, Wilma and William Holderman were united in marriage in Berryville, Arkansas. They made their home in Tulsa, and Wilma worked as an office manager in the personnel department for St. John Medical Center. While living in Tulsa, she and the family were affiliated with Will Rogers United Methodist Church. Family was always her priority, but she enjoyed gardening, reading and her pets.

 

Those that survive and hold many cherished memories are her children – Mary Ann Brewer and husband Bob of Grand Lake, son John Edward Holderman and wife Elizabeth of Richardson, TX and daughter Martha Nell Willis and husband Larry of Owasso. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Tammy Brewer Howson and husband Tim of Tulsa, John Brewer and wife Gretchen of Decatur, AR, Luke William Holderman and wife Katherine of Luanda Angola, Melissa (Willis) Lewis and husband Waylon of Owasso and Melanie Willis also of Owasso; three great grandchildren – Alexander Caramanica of Leesburg, Virginia, Madison Lewis and Landon Lewis, both of Owasso. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents Walter Scott and Nellie Merriam Leavitt, her husband William E. Holderman, her sister Bernice Leavitt Kranz and a brother Homer Wallace Leavitt.

 

Funeral services for Wilma will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in the chapel of Mowery Funeral Service with Rev. Leonard Pirtle officiating. Burial and final rites will follow at the Floral Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations in Wilma’s memory to: The American Red Cross, Oklahoma Chapter; 601 Northeast 6th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73104.
