Elwood C. "Bill" GordonElwood Clyde “Bill” Gordon was born February 7, 1930, in Cedar Vale, Kansas, to Clyde Marion Gordon and Etta Isophene Hindman Gordon. He died Saturday, February 11, 2023, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 93 years. Bill was reared and educated in Cedar Vale and was a graduate of Cedar Vale High School. He was married August 16, 1963, in South Coffeyville, Kansas, to Freida Mae Conder. They had made their home in Owasso, Oklahoma, since 1963. Bill spent most of his working life as an inspector with Rockwell International in Tulsa. Bill was a longtime faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Owasso. He served over 20 years as a Scout Master with the Owasso Boy Scout Troop #98. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including spending time on the water fishing, as well as being an excellent cook. He was especially fond of his role of “Grandpa” and “Pappy” to his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Freida Gordon, granddaughter, Ashley Michelle Bentley, siblings, Robert Gordon, Francis Lee Gordon, Iola Gordon Pettigrew, Gladys Gordon Kerr, and Marion Gordon Languis.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Bill Ascol officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Bill’s memory to Neighbors in Need, 206 North Main Street, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
