IT’S GIRL SCOUT COOKIE TIME!

GIRL SCOUTS OF EASTERN OKLAHOMA BEGINS ANNUAL COOKIE SALE WITH NEW WAYS TO BUY YOUR FAVORITES

Tulsa, Okla. – Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma will kick off its Cookie Sale with a variety of new and safe ways to purchase this year. The eight-week cookie sale will run from January 23 through March 21.  Being mindful of the impact of COVID restrictions and precautions as well as the comfort level for troops, girls and customers, the Girl

Scout Council has put together several ways to sell cookies safely.

Beginning Jan. 23, individual Girl Scouts will begin emailing customers to place orders online and choose to have cookies shipped or delivered by the girl in a contactless manner. The Digital Cookie site allows girls to expand their sales reach and allows the customer to pay for their cookies via credit card. To help promote their Digital Cookie site, girls have virtual booths on Facebook live to do their sales pitch. Parents and troops can share on their social media pages to encourage cookie sales.

Booth sales will begin Feb. 12 and the Girl Scout “Cookie Finder” app makes finding cookies easy. Once in the app, users can enter their ZIP code to find a nearby cookie booth or a troop set up to accept orders that will be shipped directly to the customer. The app can be downloaded for iOS and Android devices. In addition to booth sales being held at Reasor’s, Walmart and Sam’s Club, new locations this year include GNC and drive-thru booths at select Arvest Bank branches, once the bank is closed to the public. All available booth locations can be found in the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app or by using the cookie finder search tool on our website at www.gseok.org.

New this year, girls can expand their cookie business while learning about the food delivery market. Beginning Feb. 12, cookies can be ordered through Grubhub. Simply log in, place your order and your favorite cookies will be delivered to your door. Customer pickup will also be an option at these locations. Available Grubhub locations include the Tulsa metro area, Stillwater and Claremore for weekend delivery.

“Our troops look forward to our cookie sale each year and learn so many life skills through this experience,” said Celeste Franklin, Director of Product Programs for Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma. “They learn goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics so wanted to do all we could do to make the sale happen safely.”

All cookie sales that happen in public must follow these rules and guidelines: Wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth

Maintain six feet distance

Keep hands clean – wear gloves or use hand sanitizer Use contactless payment and delivery as much as possible

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program for girls in the world. When girls sell cookies, they earn fun rewards and incentives to support their Girl Scout program. Troops earn proceeds for participating in the Cookie Program and girls in the troop help decide how the proceeds will be used. The council portion of the proceeds helps subsidize programs for girls in Eastern Oklahoma. 100% of the cookie proceeds stay local!
