Question: I have been trying to get pregnant for two years. Are there any non-medical approaches, such as relaxation or meditation techniques, that could improve my chances of becoming pregnant?

Answer: I am not aware of any studies that have shown a positive correlation between conceiving and using holistic medicine techniques such as meditation, reflexology, massage or acupuncture.  You certainly want to be as healthy and stress-free as possible prior to pregnancy to reduce your risk of complications, so any of the above therapies would certainly not hurt or be off-limits during pregnancy.  Take this time to check in with your OB/Gyn and your primary care physician to make sure you are

Pic Chainakul & Hallhealthy enough for pregnancy.  You should have normal results from a recent pap smear and if you have medical issues, they should be well-controlled. For example, for high blood pressure or diabetes, you should be using diet or medications that are safe to use during pregnancy.  There is a relatively new dietary supplement on the market called Pregnitude that is available online and over the counter to help improve regular ovulation that you could research as well.  Don’t forget to start your prenatal vitamin now so you are already in the habit of taking it.  Good luck!
