02/03/2018 – Owasso Police announced Thursday that they are cracking down on red-light runners,  focusing on some of  Owasso’s most dangerous intersections.

On Friday, they delivered on that promise,  spending rush hour on focused enforcement at 96th Street North and Garnett.  Lt. Nick Boatman with the Owasso Police Department tells us that from 4:30pm-6:00pm, officers at that location stopped 22 cars for red light violations.  That averages one car every four minutes.

Owasso Police say there are five locations that have accounted for more than 150 recent crashes. You will see the crack down continue in those areas.  Those locations fall within the area of 86th to 96th Streets North and Garnett to 129th.

The fine for running a red light?  $260.
